The San Jose Sharks, American professional ice hockey team that plays in the Western Conference of the NHL, joined the NHL for the 1991-92 season. The Sharks name was selected, The Sharks are based in San Jose, California. in part, because of the large shark population in the Bay Area. The Sharks have won six division titles, a Western conference title, and one Presidents' Trophy. They play their home games at the SAP Center in San Jose, known locally as the "Shark Tank’.
